Book Review: Made For A Purpose

Credit: Amazon
Made For A Purpose by Kristie Wilde is Book 1 from the Joyful Creation Series.

This book answers the questions that little children including my own ask.  When they see God's creation they sure do have lots of questions and aren't shy about asking them.

The author provided interesting facts about animals that you may leave you surprised!

He made the beaver with long teeth, that grow super fast so they can chew down trees to build their houses!
He gave chipmunks stretchy pouches inside their mouths so they can carry more food at a time!

The author used watercolor illustrations to create beautiful images that are captivating.  Her attention to detail of the Lord's handiwork is simply charming.  The detail in the pictures of the animals kept my daughters 7 and 2 engaged.

My 7 year old read the book in one sitting and thoroughly enjoyed it.

I think this book would be a great gift for your inquisitive little ones!

I received this complimentary copy, from Book Crash, in exchange for my honest review

Book Review: Pray A to Z

This is a great prayer resource to have in your prayer arsenal.  I loved that there are so many specific prayers to guide the new believer as well as the mature in the faith.

Pray A to Z by Amelia Rhodes is a book which topically organizes prayers in alphabetical order which makes this resource even easier to use.

Prayer is at times an unused weapon used by believers.  The enemy tries to discourage us from praying.  No more excuses with this book! It navigates you through a variety of prayers that will provoke your faith.

There are model prayers to guide you through topics such as:

                   Bulimia and other Eating Disorders
                   Court Cases
There is a Contents section that lists the prayer topics alphabetically as well as a scripture reference for each prayer.

This is a great guide to activate or re-activate your prayer life.  There is amazing power in prayer!
Be encouraged to believe in God's promises.

Book Review: 40 Days to a Joyful Motherhood

40 Days to a Joyful Motherhood by Sarah Humphrey is a personal collection of thoughts and meditations developed through her journey of motherhood with beautiful hand-drawn illustrations to color yourself.  Sarah Humphrey is the mother of three children. I love that her husband, David wrote the foreword to the book.  He shares how much he admires his wife dedication to the calling and acknowledges the certain qualities that only a mother and wife can provide.

Sarah is inviting mothers, whatever stage of motherhood they are in, to join in on finding healing and strength in spending alone and intimate time with Jesus.

This devotional includes 40 days of devotions focusing on 6 key topics of motherhood such as:
Reconciling with grief, hope and expectations

I love that some of the pages to color include verses from Scripture!

Day 1 was particularly touching to me and ministered me dearly as only the Lord can.
I will make of you a great nation and will bless you.
I will make your name respected, and your will be a blessing.
Genesis 12:2

In the devotion she points out the importance of mothers knowing their identity and allowing Jesus to lovingly guide us to the identity He has created for us.

As I am reading through the devotions, I color the adjoining page.  I do find that the quality of the pages themselves are not that thick.  I used a Sharpie fine tip marker and it bled through the page.  I then used Crayola colored pencils and it seems to work much better however, the color still peeked through.  Just something to note.

I do enjoy reading through the daily devotions and coloring along!
