Book Review: My Sing-Along Bible

My Sing-Along Bible by Stephen Elkins contains 50 easy to understand Bible stories and 50 fun songs based on Scripture.

Some of the stories that are included are ones that are common in children's story books.  The stories of Noah and the Flood, David and Goliath, and Baby Moses to name a few but also those which are not as common such as Balaam and the Donkey, Hannah's Gift, Double Blessing (Elijah taken up to Heaven).  I am pleased that these stories were also included along with God is Our Guide and Angels Watching Over Me.
Each story includes the following sections:
  • Let's Read - brief summary of the Bible story
  • A Biblical Verse - that corresponds with the story
  • Let's Sing - the words to the song
  • Little Lesson - overview of the story

The illustrations by Susan Reagan and vivid and colorful.  The drawing are whimsical and so very fun to watch.  Besides illustrating Biblical accounts she also included pictures of beautiful children engaging in day-to-day life activities.  They draw my little one into the story and she gazes at them with joy.

This book has 50 (FIFTY!!) sing-along lively and fun Bible songs for children that reinforce the stories in the book. It also includes two bonus tracks that include the books of the Old and New Testament.  This is a great tool to help little ones memorize the books the Bible along with the order in which they appear.

My soon to be 6 year-old daughter is enjoying her new book.  The size of the hard cover padded book, which measures about 8x8 inches is easy for her to grasp in her hands and turn the pages with ease.

Tyndale's quality of books geared toward children of Biblical content are superb and I recommend them to parents who are looking to expand their child's resources of appropriate Godly material.

Disclosure: I received a complimentary copy of the book for review purposes from Tyndale House. - See more at: http://www.tyndaleblognetwork.com/5_nav/guidelines.php#sthash.kToR95oA.dpuf
