Five Minute Friday: What Mama Did...

She was forced to grow up much earlier than she should have...
She new the many hardships of life earlier than she should have...

She came to this country to give her children a better life than she had...
She put her children before her own personal happiness...

She loved when she didn't have to...
She loved me when I was so unlovable...

She shared my joy when I overcame...
She remained strong when I failed...

She encouraged me along the way...
She infused hope...

She came to know the Lord Jesus as her Savior...
She is now loved and taken care of...

She still loves...
She hasn't allowed life's challenges to harden her heart...

I love mami...

Book Review: Bible Stories That End with a Hug

About the Book:
Little children love getting and giving hugs.  Show your little ones just how much you treasure them while teaching them about God's unconditional love.

My Review:
My daughter and I enjoyed reading through the bible stories.  Their is a collection of 75 Bible stories included in this book.   The illustrations are beautifully done.  The colors are soft and muted and captured our attention.

I was surprised to see stories of Balaam, Deborah and Ezekiel  pictured as these are often left out of children's Bible story books.  My daughter enjoyed reading these stories as we have not covered them yet in our bible study time.  Well known stories of Adam and Eve, David and one of my daughter's favorite Jonah are also included.

Although I did enjoy the layout of the book and certainly the biblical content, the stories are very short.  Most stories are about three to four sentences long, however, what makes up for each story being so short are the questions that are included with each one which helps to elaborate a bit more. Also included in each story is a memory verse from the New Living Translation and a special "hug" time:)

This book can be used to introduce the child to the biblical stories BUT have your bible handy to read the WHOLE truth.

Book Review: What You Need to Know About Healing

About the Book:
While no one is promised tomorrow, you will receive the encouragement for any circumstance, and you will better understand the compassionate nature of our Heavenly Father and how to find healing His way.

My Review:
This book provides many scriptural references for healing.
While God manifests His wonders and power, His miracles take place when people believe that God will hear their crying out to Him, wholeheartedly petitioning Him and trusting in the promises of Scripture.

Many will get to know and trust in the Lord through sickness.  Through the experience they will be able to learn lessons that can only be learned no other way.  During this season of ailment afflicting their bodies many will get to experience and discover the presence of a compassionate Shepherd who walks beside them teaching them truths not only about His love and mercy but about themselves as well.

The Lord is STILL delivering miraculous healing to those who believe.  His desire is that we may be whole in Him - spiritually, emotionally and yes! physically as well.  Through Scripture we have the blessed assurance that the Lord has promised to never leave us nor forsake us.  His Word gives us the assurance that the Lord will always be by our side even through the valley of death.

I have to point out that the personal narratives of divine healing was my favorite part of the book.  To read the personal accounts and testimonies of people who witnessed first hand the glory of God's healing manifest in their bodies is such a testiment to God's healing power.
