Counting My Blessings

I continually marvel at the grandeur of our Amazing God.

1. Have enjoyed conversations with my sister-in-Christ Johanny.  I thank you my dear Jesus for the strength and grace you have given my sweet sister.

2. My sister and her husband graciously offered my family and I dinner this past Sunday.  Fellowship and food....always goes good together!

3. The Lord taught me a lesson this week at work.  HIS eyes are ALWAYS watching.  Thank you Lord for your correction.

4. Took a drive with Karen to Costco and Target.  It has been awhile since we stepped out just us two.  I always have a fun time when we go out.

5. Was able to return two bag of bagels I bought at Costco.  They grew fuzz and I was surprised I was able to return them.  Received a full refund!

6. My daughter fulfilled an etsy order this week.  God, thank you!

7. Parking rules for part of the week were cancelled and have been able to sleep in a little later:)

8. Teaching toddler's on Tuesday evenings continues to bless me immensely.   Together we are learning so much:)

9. My mom stopped by twice this week.  I just love it when she comes over.  She has also blessed us by staying with my girls while I head out to work.

10. My sister and niece stopped by a for a quick visit.  We enjoyed hearty laughs as usual:)

11. Enjoyed an evening off from work this week.  Thank you Jesus....I know you orchestrated that evening just for me:)

12. Received my Scentsy order.  The warmers look even more beautiful in person. I am warming Perfectly Pomegranate and it smells great!  My scentsy consultant wrapped up my order beautifully and I even got an extra something.  Thanks:)

13. My church is celebrating 15 years of service and dedication to the Lord Jesus Christ this week.  I truly feel eternally blessed by the Pastor the Lord has given me.  I am blessed to have a Pastor that loves the Lord as well as a love for the congregation.  Many more in YOU, Lord!!!!!

Monthly Goals: September

I am amazed that September is just about to come to an end. I have a few goals that I want to accomplish by the month's end.  Even though, the month is just about over, it's never to late to start right?

I have finally decided to commit and prepare a binder/journal of my goals and important dates.

This is my to-do list that in the name of Jesus I will want to have accomplished by month's end.

I am starting small as I am new to using a paper system and actually setting goals.  In the past, I used the 'ol trying to keep track of everything in my mind.  Suffice to say that method has not worked for my family and I so I decided to take the plunge.

Will update by the end of the month.

Sydney at Sixteen

Dear Sydney,

I know things up to this point in your life have not been ideal. You have endured much at this tender age. The spunkiness and the laughter that once adorned your face.....the grins that stretched from ear to ear have long been replaced with sentiments of fear, loneliness, anger, shame and guilt. Please know that it wasn't your fault.

Your parents will divorce this year and although you shout for joy and you seem happy because finally the screaming and yelling will stop...I know that you just want daddy back home. You want your family back together. I know that you yearn for stability and security. You will not get the opportunity to see your father until Karen graduates high school and he sees you pregnant at 18. But there is hope!

Speaking of high school, you would have attended three high schools by this time and there are three more to go. By now you are not the dorky little Sydney with thick glasses, bad haircuts and battling weight issues. You have contacts and it changes the reflection of who you see in the mirror. You have thinned out but not by exercise and good eating habits. You certainly have changed but not in a good way. The shield that your mother tried to provide to hide you from the truths and reality of a broken world has been shattered and destroyed long ago. You seek your own path. But there is hope!

You have been hanging out with a much different crowd then you are used to. You will feel scared. You really don't want to be there but your voice is drowned out. Your thoughts and actions are governed by another. You want so much to be accepted and loved. You would do anything for the attention to continue. I know you desperately want to feel accepted. But there is hope!

Don't despise being so much like your mother. You will all to soon understand that she truly loves you. You come from a long line of woman who have suffered for the sake of others. Don't mistake her love, care, words of encouragement and her suffering for weakness. She will be the strongest and most courageous person you will ever know.

The dreams and hopes that you have at this point in time will never be realized. You will not see the light in the midst of all the darkness, yet. But dearest Sydney you will.

There is hope in the midst of all that you have yet to endure. Yes, Sydney there is much more to come. There are still many more tears to shed, heart aches that you find comfort in forming habits that will eventually control every aspect of your life in the years to come. But there is hope!

The light of Jesus Christ will shine on your life and the Truth will be revealed to you. Yes, I said Jesus. Remember, it was this year that you met a young woman who was in love with Jesus and you even went to church with her.  I would have to say to not listen to your mom and have her talk to you about the real JESUS!  It will be about ten more years until you surrender your life to HIM.  I told you there is hope!

You will come to know love...real love. No longer will you have to face life alone. No longer will you have the overwhelming feeling of "it's me against the world". You will be hidden in the love of the Most High GOD! Yes, you Sydney!

Please know that through it all you have been loved and yes, even cared for.

This is not at all the type of music that you listen to now but I think it is very appropriate.

I was made to love You
I was made to find You
I was made just for You

Made to adore you
I was made to love
and be loved by You

You were here before me
You were waiting on me
and You said You'd keep me

Never would You leave me
I was made to love and be loved by YOU!

Counting My Blessings

Ideally I would like to post my blessings for the week on Saturday's however this weekend was quite busy for my family and I.

Nevertheless, I must detail all of the Lord's marvelous works from this past week.

1. My niece Sara turned 7 years old this week!!!!  Her aunt from her father's side threw her a birthday party which included games, cake and food:).  She had a guessing game which consisted of who could guess how many Skittles were in a jar and guess who!!!! Who would've figured there were 653 Skittles in the jar?

2. My niece Sara's dad also celebrated another year in the Lord this week!

3. Began our 2nd week of homeschooling and we got off to a slow start since I had quite a few errands to run.

4. Being able to witness my daughter's desire to dig deep into the Word of God has blessed me immensely.

5. For over a month now my husband and the girls have been delighting in Monday evening prayers.
Thank you Lord for the unity and love only you can give.

6. My sister threw her Scentsy launch party.  We had lots of laughs and she quite a few orders in already!!!  Thank you Lord for glorifying yourself in everything we place in your hands!!!

7. My husband and I felt the peace about me starting a part time job and I continue to see how the Lord is showing me specific areas of my life that need more of HIM and less of me.  I am amazed at how HE sees fit to work it all out for my good!!!

8.  I am thankful that the Lord has allowed an open door for HIS Word to be preached at my husband's job.

9.  My mom received great news regarding her income this week!  Do you know our God has a sense of humor?

10.  My tot has been very willing in her homeschooling.  I am learning right along with her...thank you LORD!!!
