Counting My Blessings

I am amazed at how this year came and we will be ringing in the new year very soon. I just love to share all that the Lord has blessed me with. Just the other day I was reading some of my older CYB posts and enjoyed looking back to all of God's love manifested.

1. Went over for a quick visit to my mom's house on Monday night. That is one of her days off and I enjoy spending it with her even if only for a moment.

2. My baby girl is so inquisitive. I enjoy seeing her explore her surroundings.

3. Took a walk with my sister Wednesday evening. I feel so blessed to be able to have her not only as a sister but as a friend. We have such a great relationship...thank you Jesus.

4. My husband gave me this piece of scrap mdf and I have a great project in mind.

5. My baby enjoyed playing with one of my niece's toys..and she gave it to her! How sweet!

6. Did my grocery shopping for the month. Was even able to pick up some items for my mom.
Even better, I received $10.00 in cash for renewing my membership!

7. My teen is such a big help when we venture out on our errands. Thanks honey:)
She even folded my laundry..sweet! (That's one of my favorite t-shirts on top)

8. I am grateful for the favor the Lord has blessed my husband with at work. Thank you Jesus.

9. Freebies enjoyed this week...
(2) free 8x10 pictures that I was able to customize
(3) bottles of dish washing soap
toothpaste sample that came with coupons

10. My husband surprised me by making me coffee and and giving me the last chocolate danish.

11. Thinking of the danish...I am grateful that my mom blesses me with fresh pastries.

The Lord's works are great,
studied by all who delight in them.
All that He does is splendid and majestic;
His righteousness endures forever.
He has caused His wonderful works
to be remembered.
The Lord is gracious and compassionate.

Operation Christmas Child

Let the little children come to Me, don't stop them,
because the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.

~ Luke 18:16

The eldest son of Evangelist Billy Graham, Franklin Graham is President and CEO of Samaritan's Purse. OCC is a ministry of Samaritan's Purse for nearly 20 years. There goal is to reach children with the Gospel of Jesus Christ by sending gift filled shoe boxes to over 95 countries. God has allowed these little shoe boxes to open the hearts of children, their families and even entire communities to the true meaning of Christmas.

Last year Operation Christmas child collected over 8 million shoe boxes.
Samaritan's Purse will be sending more than 250,000 gift boxes for the children of Haiti.

I feel so blessed that I am able to contribute to this organization.

Please take a moment to watch this video.

We pack our boxes with prayer as well as goodies. We have prayed that each child that receives a box gets exactly what they desired in their hearts to received.

Instead of the shoe boxes I use a similarly sized plastic bin with a lid (that can be re-used and is also part of the gift) which I am hoping to purchase this weekend so I can pack them and get them ready to drop off. Through out the year I am tracking sales so I can match them up with coupons and get great deals.

By the Lord's mercy and grace I have been able to get great prices on the items listed below.

Small cars, balls, coloring books, puzzles, jump ropes etc.

School supplies are essential for any child.
This year I made sure to have even more supplies to hand out.
I managed to get FREE pencils at CVS this summer!

Hygiene items such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, bar soap, combs, etc.
Also close to free using CVS extra care bucks paired with coupons!

A sweet treat is a great surprise for these little one :)

Last year my sister gave me the idea to send along in the boxes socks, spoons, cups and bowls. I think that is such a neat idea. My daughter enjoys drinking out of her own pink cup and I am sure these precious children will enjoy it as well.

I have asked the Lord to lead me to give back some of the abundant blessings that He has showered me with. He has lead me to Operation Christmas Child among others.

Prayerfully seek the Lord, and ask Him where He wants you sow a seed of His love to others.

My desire is that we can all give...sow a seed in fertile soil...for the glory of Jesus!

Breaking Free: The Fruit of Unfailing Love

Sow for yourselves righteousness,
Reap the fruit of unfailing love,
and break up your unplowed ground;
for it is time to seek the Lord,
Until He comes
and showers righteousness on you.
Hosea 10:12

As I continue on this journey with my Lord and Savior, who graciously has revealed so much of my own heart to me, I realize I have much to learn about my Lord. Especially, in regards to His unfailing love for me.

I have tried to humanize God's love but God is not a human. His love cannot be compared with any form of love ever experienced. He loves without condition or expectancy to receive that same measure of love in return. God's ultimate expression of love was giving His One and Only Son so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. His love is Unfailing!

Similarities can be found in the relationship we have with our heavenly Father and that of our earthly parents. However, earthly parents just do not possess the capacity to love the way our Heavenly Father loves us. Some parents find it difficult to express their love appropriately to their children. My father was not very affectionate and did not always demonstrate his love for his children. In the Word of God, there are details painted in each book of the Bible of His perfect love for us. Since God's love is demonstrative their are numerous declarations in His Word about His perfect love for us, His children.

You will lead the people You have redeemed with your faithful love
Exodus 15:13a

Even if He causes suffering,
He will show compassion
according to His abundant, faithful love.
Lamentations 3:32

Because of His great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy,
made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions
Ephesians 2:4-5

Those who have chosen to believe in God's unfailing love will bear fruit of that love. Believers who have chosen to receive and walk according to that unfailing love differ from all others. They do not question living in the security of His loving arms. If they happen to fall, they humble themselves, repent and are certain that God's unfailing love will help them back up.

Beth shares these valuable insights:

1. The child of God who trusts God's love possess security in God's leadership
2. The child of God who trusts God's love possess security in salvation
3. The child of God who trusts God's love possess security in God's mercy
4. The child of God who trusts God's love possess security in His comfort
5. The child of God who trusts God;s love possess security in His defense

If the enemy has planted a seed of doubting the unfailing love that God has for you, confess and pray for forgiveness for the sin of unbelief. Rebuke the devil's lies and seek HIM in His Word concerning His love for you.

Let's give access to the Lord so that fruit of His unfailing love can manifest in our lives.

Counting My Blessings

1. I was able to get some great deals this week on baby wipes for my baby. God divine providence is breath taking. As I noticed that my supply is running low, there was a sale on Amazon and I was able to get over 600 wipes for $11.00 minus a $5.00 amazon gift card I received using some of my swagbucks. Great!

2. My SIL is having her first baby! She is so petite and I am excited to see her belly once she gets further along in her pregnancy!! She is due sometime in May.

3. Received some goodies from Operation Christmas Child!

4. My daughter and I are really enjoying Kay Arthur's "Teach Me Your Ways - Pentateuch" bible study.

5. Holy Spirit has really been ministering my marriage. I am so grateful how in God's infinite mercy He addresses what's most important in our lives...HIM!

6. My BIL preached on Thursday's service. The message from the Lord is that He is seeking faithfulness. He wants His body to choose HIM above it all. If there are idols in our lives..we must destroy any and all altars and put HIM first!

7. I had such a fun time with my teen while we created polymer cupcakes. She handed them out to some of her little SIC as gifts. They really liked the cupcakes:)

8. Thankful that Holy Spirit guides us to all truth. If we seek we shall find!

9. I received in the mail a gift from afar. My heart's desire is that the sender may receive her recompense from above. To God be the glory!

(We were so excited to open up and see the goodies inside)

(WOW! We were in awe to see the bountiful blessings that were included!)

10. My husband spent time alone in prayer this weekend. He testified on how the Lord glorified himself and I was blessed through his ultimate obedience to God's promptings.

Seven Questions

Amanda over at My Secret Garden invited me to answer 7 questions. I thought it would be a great way for my bloggy friends to get to know me. Read along and get to know me:

1. Where did you meet your husband?
I met my husband at church. My husband was an usher at our church and I noticed that he was so kind and helpful. I am grateful that we now get to serve the body of Christ together!

2. What is one of your most favourite movies?
I don't have a favorite movie but I enjoy the Kendrick Brother movies (Flywheel, Facing the Giants, & Fireproof)

3. If you could have any career you'd like, what would it be?
As a child I aspired to be an astronaut but I went to college for Criminal Justice...I wanted to become a lawyer.

4. What character in the Bible do you really relate too the most?
I would have to say David. When you read the book of Psalms you can read that when David committed a sin before God his heart was truly grieved. He wanted to be transparent before the Lord and also his ability to confess his sin and seek the Lord's restoration is of encouragement to me. I pray that my heart can always be that sensible.

5. Where did you get married?
Civil ceremony took place in a courthouse in Bronx, NY and later we got married at my church in Far Rockaway, Queens, NY.

6. What makes you laugh easily?
My sister Karen. Growing up together we laughed all the time and now even as adults and mothers we enjoy each other's company so very much. I was with her just yesterday and we laughed going from store to store while we ran some errands in our neighborhood.

7. If you could live in another country, which one would it be?
Assuming that my husband is in agreement:) I would have to say Ecuador. As a child I always wanted to be surrounded by my rather large family.

Thanks again, Amanda for inviting me to answer 7 questions.

Breaking Free: Failure to Believe God's Unfailing Love

I started this study of Beth Moore's book, "Breaking Free" late January. I purposed to read one chapter every week and allowing Holy Spirit to dig deep into my heart and I asked Him to bring to the surface anything and everything that needs to be dealt with regarding the topic discussed for that week. For God's glory this week has not been any different. Holy Spirit was allowing me to see areas of my life in a different light and with different eyes. At times I can be quick to ask Holy Spirit to reveal my heart to me and when He does, it's not pretty. However, my confidence lies in that I can go to the presence of God and expose my heart (which He already knows) and I am confident in the fact that without a shadow of a doubt He will minister to me and I come out victorious each and every time.

This chapter has me dealing with unbelief. Beth goes on to describe that unbelief is a sickness that plagues the bride, the body of Christ. It is a plague debilitating many a believer. Believing His Word is essential for breaking free.

Psalm 146: 6b - 9
He remains faithful forever, executing justice for the exploited
and giving food for the hungry.
The Lord frees prisoners.
The Lord opens the eyes of the blind.
The Lord raises up those who are oppressed.
The Lord loves the righteous.
The Lord protects foreigners and
helps the fatherless and the widow
but He frustrates the ways of the wicked.

What a beautiful expression of just how much God's love can accomplish in the life of those who choose to receive it.

At times, circumstances and happenings have caused me to choose not to believe the Word that God has spoken over my life. And yes, I said choose because unbelief is a choice, it is a deliberate action.

I remember a time when my husband was out of work and I had lost my job suddenly. I remember thinking about bills that needed to get, car insurance, etc. I had totally disregarded what God said about Him being my Jehovah Jireh...He alone is my provider. My former employer had given me severance pay which was exactly the amount of my salary for the length of time I was without employment. So basically, God gave me three weeks paid vacation! I worried for absolutely nothing. But the serious offense was doubting my Father's divine providence.

The Word is filled with examples of men and women that stepped out in supernatural faith.

This experience did increase my faith and served as an example that I should never doubt God's love for me. He has promised to never leave me and I have seen the manifestation of His promises fulfilled over and over again in my life.

God has proven His truthfulness and loyalty to His Word. However, when unbelief grips us we have to cast it out in the name of Jesus. We should declare what His Word says regarding the situation and speak life to it. The worst thing we could do at that point is doubt the Lord.

Beth shares the following points on pages 212-214:

1. God tells us He loves us. (Deut. 7:8)
2. God demonstrates his love for us. (John 3:16)
3. God thinks about us constantly. (John 17:24)
4. God testifies to others how He loves us. (John 17:23)

God made sure to inscribe his love for us in His Word so that we can always refer to it.

I want to always keep in my mind that belief is not a feeling. It's a choice!

Beloved, let's believe God's proclamation of love for us and walk in that blessing. We can always run to Him when our faith needs to be strengthened. And it's ok, He is there waiting for us and willingly will give us exactly what we need...less of us and more of HIM!

Counting My Blessings

1. My husband and teen were able to go with our church street evangelizing. My daughter was able to preach to a few young women and share the gospel of Jesus Christ. My husband prayed for a young man who had reconciled his life to the Lord and I am praying that the Word that was deposited in him will not return void and will produce permanent fruit!

2. Afterwards, my daughter and husband enjoyed pizza together and enjoyed sharing their experiences of witnessing the Word.

3. A beloved brother in Christ and his wife paid a surprise visit to us on Sunday. We were able to have such a spirit lead conversation before service started. Through praying together the Lord reveals so much of our hearts to each other and brings about all that is necessary to draw us closer to each other and to God. Thank you, Lord for the power that breaks forth when I pray with my husband.

After coupons and store reward discounts my total out of pocket expense was..drum roll please!!!....$1.66 cents for everything you see pictured!!! 15. Through the Breaking Free study I have been able to put in practice what I have been reading and I thank the Lord for the grace to be able to endure:)

Surely the righteous will praise Your name;
The upright will live in your presence.

Breaking Free: The Fullness of Unfailing Love

Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love,
that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.
Psalm 90:14

Can you think of a time when you were suddenly awash with the magnitude of God's love for you personally?

As a mother I make sure I am re-in forcing to my daughters just how much they mean to me. I constantly tell them that I love them and more importantly I instill in them the love that God has for them. God does the same with us. His willingness to demonstrate His love for us should create in us a fullness in our hearts of His unfailing love....we should be satisfied with HIS love.

Did you know that there are people who have professed Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior that are not living the abundant life that Jesus has so freely given us? I know this to be true because for quite some time after I came to Christ I still felt empty. I read the Holy Word of God and I knew that His Holy Spirit now abides in me, however there was a hinderance which was that I didn't allow God access to those empty places in my heart. Areas of my life that needed much healing were blocked off to the Lord. Unwillingness to confess hurts are a barrier for the fullness of God's love to manifest in lives of those who have confessed Christ. I new I desperately needed and wanted to be free. I wanted to live in the fullness of God's unfailing love. I confessed with my mouth all my hurts, my broken spirit, my sin and God HEALED my heart. I took hold of the Word that states that I am a new creation...old things have passed away, and all things are now new in HIM!!!

If were are living a life that is fully satisfied in the unfailing love of God that is ever present, we can rest assured that whatever the circumstances are....that will never alter His love for us. The fullness of His love is available to us. Beloved, let us draw from His precious living water and be satisfied.

The original price was $26.50 it was on clearance for 50% off of an already reduced price of $13.99 and on top of that I used a coupon which brought the down the price of the coat to $5.23.

(oops did not adjust date settings on camera)

This frame will now house the picture my father painted.

Search me, God, and know my heart;
test me and know my concerns.
See if there is any offensive way in me;
lead me in the everlasting way.

All Was Good

God also said, "Look, I have given you every seed bearing plant on the surface of the entire earth, and every tree whose fruit contains seed.
This food will be for you,"

God saw all that He had made, and it was very good.

Genesis 1: 29, 31

My daughters and I headed to the farmer's market earlier and there was such beautiful fruits and veggies to choose from.

I know I wanted to get lettuce, but which one? The market had about 7 varieties to choose from. I choose the one that looked the prettiest to me;)

There were also these lovely hot peppers I couldn't pass up on.

Tonight I am serving salad with a lasagna I prepared last night and I saw these lovely veggies I will be adding:

Right as I was leaving I noticed pears! So these came along. I was thinking to make a pear tart.

We are truly thankful for all the delicious produce created by the hands of our marvelous GOD!
