Operation Christmas Child
And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. Matthew 25:40
Last year I had the privilege to participate in Operation Christmas Child. Operation Christmas Child shows the love of Jesus through shoe box gift distributions donated to needy children worldwide and spreading the saving gospel of Jesus Christ.
My family has collected items through out the year to make our boxes. We are including in the gift boxes gospel tracts, toothbrushes, toothpaste, pens, pencils, note pads, deodorant, toys and hair accessories. Prayerfully consider collecting supplies and preparing your own gift boxes. National Collection Week is November 16-23.
There is still about 2 months until collection of the boxes begins however, those who are interested in participating have enough time to collect gifts to include in their boxes. Here is a link to find your nearest drop-off location. You are asked to donate $7.00 for each box donated to help cover shipping and other project costs.
My family consider it a blessing to be able to participate in Operation Christmas Child. My daughter was so excited again this year to collect supplies to pack the boxes. If you have participated in this program, please comment on how contributing has been a blessing to you and your family.
God bless you :)
BEYOND THE BOX
The Operation Christmas Child ministry extends far beyond a gift-filled shoe box. The goal of the project is to offer children the opportunity to participate in the Operation Christmas Child Discipleship Program, and to give every graduate of this exciting program a New Testament in their local language. In 2009-2010, an estimated 1.9 million children will have the opportunity to participate in the Discipleship Program, with an estimated 1.2 million of these boys and girls completing the series of Bible lessons. The program encourages children to grow in their faith and to share their faith with their friends.
