My desire for you all is that the Lord may continue to bless and prosper you in HIM. That all that you have purposed to achieve this year for HIM and in HIM may come to pass for HIS glory. That every word that has been declared over your lives may come to fruition knowing that faithful is HE who has promised.

My Turn.....Part II

I also tried making Karen's pizza and the results are in. Drum roll please! Just as good as store bought pizza...dare I say..even better!

I also have to mention that it is verrry easy to make. My daughter and I had fun making and rolling out the dough. My husband even chipped in dicing the garlic to spread over the crust. (He mixed the garlic with butter and spread it on the dough crust prior to baking). Just plan in advance due to having to let the dough rise for about 2 hours.

My Turn

Karen at Building Her House posted a yummy recipe for pumpkin bars.

I was able to try a piece of hers and immediately decided on trying out the recipe for myself especially since she said it was super easy to make.

Let me tell you it was super easy to make!
I forgot to include my almonds in the batter therefore I sprinkled some on top.

Next time I will be substituting bananas and maybe even try making it with carrots.

I would add raisins and nuts to make it even yummier!

Are You Preparing For Rain?

There were two farmers who desperately needed rain. But only one went out to prepare his fields for it? Who do you think trusted in God to send the rain?

I was reminded of this story a few nights ago while having a conversation with my husband.

Jesus said to His disciples, "Stay awake and pray so that you won't enter into temptation. The Spirit is willing but the flash is weak."
Matthew 26: 41-56

Jesus left and came back a second time and even a third time and still found the disciples sleeping while He was being strengthened in prayer for what was to come.

After this scene is when Judas betrays Jesus. Soon after one of those with Jesus reached out his hand and drew his sword and cut off the ear of a slave of the High Priest. Jesus immediately rebukes him and tells him who takes up a sword will perish by the sword. The disciple who when He saw Jesus being attacked immediately reacted in the flesh because he did not heed to what Jesus had told him to do.

What stood out to me is what Jesus said to his disciple, "Or do you think that I cannot call on my Father, and He will provide Me at once with more than 12 legions of angels? Wow!

Jesus said that if He called on His father that His Father AT ONCE will provide 12 legions of angels to come to His aid.

As children of God if we are praying and making the most of our time being strengthened in prayer and remaining in communion with the Lord that we also can have the same conviction that when we call upon the Lord, He will listen.

2 Chronicles 7:14 says, "if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land."

Are you preparing for rain?

My sister was sharing a story of a woman who her husband worked out of the home while she is now a SAHM. This woman said that coupon clipping and shopping wisely is her way to contribute income to her household.

I am so grateful to the Lord that He has revealed this new way of shopping to me. With me being a SAHM now I am enjoying finding ways to cut our spending.

Were you able to save BIG this week?

"Since we believe that Jesus died and rose again , in the same way God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep through Jesus." - 1 Thess 4:14

You Will Have What You Say....

Yesterday evening, I made a comment to my husband about a personal situation and he lovingly looked at me and said.."como usted quiera" which translates "if that's what you want".

After He said that to me,the Holy Spirit reminded me of Prov 18:21 - "Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof".

I don't want to be satisfied and complacent. Why should I be? I serve a mighty God. I don't have to accept what I see going on around me because I walk by faith and not by sight. I have to declare those things which are not as if they are knowing that my Father knows what I am in need of. If I seek His kingdom first and His righteousness first then all other things will be added unto me.

My husband had been declaring life over the same situation that I am now confronted with. He prayed for God to intervene and he would also declare life over it and I witnessed the fruits of him declaring the Word of God and His promises and not leaning on his own understanding.

I certainly do not want my own reasoning to serve as a blessing blocker.

Lord, I know it is not by strength but by your Holy Spirit. Help me to be still and know that you are GOD!

More Savings...

My sister and I went out to see if we would be able to find any Black Friday deals. To my surprise the stores that we went to really did not offer anything that, to me, would be considered a good deal.

However, CVS, Walgreens and Rite-Aid advertised three day sales begining on the 26th. So while the turkey and the pernil were in the oven (my hubby was home with the girls) we did some shopping on Thankful Thursday and caught some awesome deals!

Below are my purchases made:

CVS run was a total of $2.32 OOP and received $12.00 in ECB's

Walgreens run with a total of $4.89 OOP (specially happy I was able to buy my tween 2 webkinz that she wanted that retail at about $14.99 each)

Rite-Aid run with a total of $10.86 OOP, however RR is $10.00 so FINAL OOP is $.86!

This is my GOD!

Last night as I was driving home from church the enemy was attempting to steal the blessing of the WORD (Gen 32:6-12).

He had me thinking of some things that truly did not edify and I have to admit there was a pity party going on in my mind.

After, I asked the Lord for forgiveness for even contemplating such things I thought of the wonderous works of the LORD. That always put a smile on my face!

This morning my tween reminded me of who GOD is.

HE is:

ABBA FATHER - (Rom 8:15)
ELOHIM - Our Creator (Gen 1:1)
EL SHADDAI - My Supplier (Gen 17:1)
EL OLAM - The Everlasting God (Gen 21:33)
EL ELYON - The Most High God (Ps 9:2)
EL EMET - The God of Truth (Ps 31:5)
EL ROI - The God Who Sees Me (Gen 16:13)
EL DE'OT - The God of Knowledge (1 Sam 2:3)
JEHOVAH - My Lord God (Ex 6:3)
JEHOVAH JIREH - My Provider (Gen 22:13-14)
JEHOVAH ROPHE - My Healer (Ex 15:26)
JEHOVAH NISSI - My Banner (Ex 17:8-15)
JEHOVAH MIKKADESH - My Sanctifier (Ex 31:13)
JEHOVAH TSIDKENU - My Righteousness (Jer 23:6)
JEHOVAH SHALOM - My Peace (Judges 6:24)
JEHOVAH ROHI - My Shepherd (Ps 23:1)
JEHOVAH SHAMMAH - My Abiding Presence (EZ 48:35)
JEHOVAH TSEVA'OT - Lord of Hosts (1 Sam 17:45)

There are many more name of GOD. It is important to know just who GOD is.

ARE YOU ALLOWING GOD TO BE ALL OF THE ABOVE IN YOUR LIFE?

Saving Tip

On our way to church I sometimes ask my husband to buy me a coffee and a brownie or cherry pie.

By the end of the week we were spending a few dollars on snacks.

My tween asked me if we can make a cake this afternoon, we compromised and made cupcakes (I just bought a muffin pan that I have been wanted to try)

We used store bought cake mix (on sale for $1.00) and frosting (also on sale). I filled 9 with the plain cake mix. With the remaining batter I added 2 tablespoons of peanut butter. The darker batter is the peanut butter ones.

This evening I will be taking my cupcakes along with my coffee made at home in my travel mug!

Recipe: Flan

This was my first attempt at making flan.

Ingredients

6 eggs
1 can of evaporated milk
1 can of condensed milk
1 soup spoon of vanilla
1/2 bar of softened Philadelphia cream cheese
1 cup of suger

(This makes 2 medium size flans)

Take the cup of sugar and place it in a pan on medium heat.
After a few minutes the sugar will melt. But, you must keep an eye on it so it won't burn. After the sugar is fully melted drizzle on bottom of oven proof baking dish.

Place all remaining contents in blender until well mixed.

Pour liquid ingredients into baking dish (which has sugar on bottom)and place dish into larger oven proof dish filled half way with water (water bath).

Bake at 375 degrees for about an hour. Check the flan by placing a toothpick or knife in the middle, if it comes out clean its done!

Run a butter knife along the edges, to loosen, and place a plate on top and flip over.

The flan will have a nice suger sauce to drizzle over each piece.

ENJOY!

Count Your Blessings Challenge

I have been blessed to have in my life Jesus Christ as my Pastor, My husband, the Pastor at my church and my Co-Pastor. My earthly Pastors all possess qualities and individual strengths that the Lord has deposited in them. They are all men who have dedicated their lives to serve the Lord and His people.

I would like to recognize the following..

Pastor of Pastors, Jesus Christ....

Jesus has taken me by the hand and shown me love. Jesus has loved me when I was not a lovable person. He has been there beside me even when I thought I was abandoned and left all alone. I thank the Lord because through Jesus' example I know what true love is.

My Husband...

I am so grateful that the Lord has blessed me with a man of God. When I was in the world I envisioned what type of man I would end up with. I saw myself with the worst the world had to offer. However, how many know that when God gives you something He gives you the best? And my husband surely is the best for me! My husband is patient, which for me, is the quality he exercises the most. When my husband brings correction to my life, it is first of all with the Word, mixed with love and compassion. My husband is a humble, loving, kind, compassionate husband and father. I am thankful to the Lord for the pastor I have in my husband.

Soldier In The Army of God

I am a soldier in the army of God. The Lord Jesus Christ is my commanding officer. The Holy Bible is my code of conduct. Faith, prayer and the Word are my weapons of warfare. I have been taught by the Holy Spirit, trained by experience, tried by adversity and tested by fire.

I am a volunteer in this army and I am enlisted for eternity. I will either retire in this army at the rapture or die in this army; but I will not get out, sell out, be talked out, or pushed out. I am faithful, reliable, capable, and dependable. If my God needs me, I am there. If He needs me in the Sunday school, to teach the children, work with the youth, help adults, or just sit and learn, He can use me because I am there.

I am a soldier, I am not a baby. I am a soldier. I am in place, saluting my King, obeying His orders, praising His name, and building His kingdom. I cannot be discouraged enough to turn me aside. I cannot lose enough to cause me to quit.

When Jesus called me into this army, I had nothing. If I end up with nothing, I will still come out ahead. I will win. My God has and will continue to supply all of my needs. I am more than a conqueror. I will always triumph. I can do all things through Christ. The devil cannot defeat me. People cannot disillusion me. Weather cannot weary me. Sickness cannot stop me. Battles cannot beat me. Money cannot buy me. Governments cannot silence me and hell cannot handle me. I am a soldier. Even death cannot destroy me. For, when my Commander calls me from this battlefield, He will promote me to Captain and then allow me to rule with Him. I am a soldier in the army, and I am marching, claiming victory. I will not give up. I will not turn around. I am a soldier marching Heaven bound!

Operation Christmas Child

And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. Matthew 25:40

Last year I had the privilege to participate in Operation Christmas Child. Operation Christmas Child shows the love of Jesus through shoe box gift distributions donated to needy children worldwide and spreading the saving gospel of Jesus Christ.

My family has collected items through out the year to make our boxes. We are including in the gift boxes gospel tracts, toothbrushes, toothpaste, pens, pencils, note pads, deodorant, toys and hair accessories. Prayerfully consider collecting supplies and preparing your own gift boxes. National Collection Week is November 16-23.

There is still about 2 months until collection of the boxes begins however, those who are interested in participating have enough time to collect gifts to include in their boxes. Here is a link to find your nearest drop-off location. You are asked to donate $7.00 for each box donated to help cover shipping and other project costs.

My family consider it a blessing to be able to participate in Operation Christmas Child. My daughter was so excited again this year to collect supplies to pack the boxes. If you have participated in this program, please comment on how contributing has been a blessing to you and your family.

God bless you :)

BEYOND THE BOX

The Operation Christmas Child ministry extends far beyond a gift-filled shoe box. The goal of the project is to offer children the opportunity to participate in the Operation Christmas Child Discipleship Program, and to give every graduate of this exciting program a New Testament in their local language. In 2009-2010, an estimated 1.9 million children will have the opportunity to participate in the Discipleship Program, with an estimated 1.2 million of these boys and girls completing the series of Bible lessons. The program encourages children to grow in their faith and to share their faith with their friends.

Loves Bears All

This past Saturday, due to the weather, street evangelizing was cancelled. My husband and I decided to run some errands. As I was making phone calls and arrangements to prepare for our outing I realized that we needed to leave right away to make good time.

In all my worrying about making "good time", I did not pray that morning as I usually do. However, my husband and tween did make time to pray and present their lives and their day to the Lord.

I noticed that my day was not going as planned. For ex. As I was at the register to pay for some items we were purchasing I overlooked that I had coupons for 2 items (Note: the coupons were in my hand). The cashier instructed me to go to the customer service dept. for a price adjustment. So I did. The cashier was not sure how to preform the price adjustment therefore we were there for about 20 minutes of her trying to figure out the return. After that we had to wait for another cashier to attempt the return. She also made some errors and we were there for another few minutes to complete a transaction that totaled a refund of $1.35.
(God in HIS infinite mercy allowed me to save over $30.00 in my BJ's shopping trip a short while after.)

My husband throughout our day had the peace that surpasses all understanding. He was helpful, loving, understanding and kind to me despite my hurridness to get things done. He truly demonstrated to me 1 Corinthians 13:4a which reads "Love is patient, Love is kind. Love does not envy; is not boastful; is not conceited; does not act improperly; is not selfish". Verses 7-8a reads "bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends.

Despite my shortcomings my husband loved me through our day just the way Jesus Christ through HIS mercy loved me through it. Jesus loves me enough to bring correction to my life. He loves me enough to bring a word of warning (a BIC preached Thursday mentioning not abandoning our first love)that whenever I try to do anything in my own strength it will not come to pass as planned.

Since Saturday evening the Holy Spirit has been ministering me up to last night culminating with Prayer Service at church about my not praying that morning. I know that my lifeline is HE who gave me life. My hope is HE who gave me a hope and a future. My dependency is on HIM that loves me and bears me. Lord, allow me never to forget that I need to seek you first. You deserve the first fruits of my day.

I thank you Lord for the mercy and favor you have showered me with. Thank you because when I am unfaithful you ALWAYS remain faithful. Thank you for the patience you have with me when I don't deserve it. Thank you Jesus!

Counting My Blessings Challenge

This week my sister Karen presented a CYB Challenge. The challenge is to list how God used another women to bless my life. Please read below:

1. My grandmother - She has been a blessing to me through her example of perseverance. My grandmother has raised her children, many of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and even now her great-great grandchildren in the midst of financial hardships and personal battles. She raised the aforementioned practically on her own. She is now well into her 90's and still going strong in the name of Jesus. I received a blessing the day she received Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.

2. My mother - There is almost a loss of words to describe how the Lord has used my mom to bless me. But I will try my best to fight back my tears and write this. When I think of what my mother put up with me..I am so thankful to God for her. I was more than a handful to say the least. I was rebellious, ungrateful, disrespectful, angry, resentful, etc.. and all this before I reached my mid-teens. My mother loved me through all my fits of anger and rage. She loved me through all the bad decisions I had made. And I sure did make a lot of awful choices. She loved me enough to tell me the truth knowing what my reaction would be. I remember at a time when I knew a few kids my age that were being kicked out of their house by their parents..my mother never told me to leave. Instead she would ask me to stay the times that I would pick up and leave thinking I would find better elsewhere. She loved me through it all.

There are countless testimonies that I can give of how the Lord used this beautiful women of God to bless me. Coming to Christ has helped me to love my mother all over again. Jesus has helped me love her with His love. I am glad that He gave her to me as my mom and a few years back now...as my sister in Christ.

Thank you Lord for my mom. I am thankful because your Word says that she is your special treasure. I am thankful because you have deposited in her the ability to be a great mom, a loving grandmother to my children and a caring mother-in-law to my husband. He loves her so much! I thank you Lord for all the counsel she has given me knowing that she cares enough to say it. Please continue to bless her Lord..may she always she herself the way You see her. May she always feel Your tender love for her knowing that you have promised to never leave her or forsake her. In the name of Jesus I ask this..amen

Last but certainly not least....

3. My sister Karen - Before I wanted to cry but thinking of my sister Karen brings an immediate smile to my face. We sure have been through a lot together. I thank God for all the moments we spent together growing up. I thank the Lord for blessing me with a sister who even in the world was a good example to me and to my daughter. I remember years back when she was in college how I would come home from partying and Karen would be up burning the midnight oil studying. I would be hanging out and Karen would be in Starbucks with her coffee and textbooks. She was determined to let nothing or no one stop her from accomplishing the goal she set up for herself to graduate college. The day I went to her graduation I felt like a proud mama..seeing my sis graduate.

The Lord used Karen, for His glory, to draw me closer to HIM. Before I came to Christ there was a specific time in my life when I was in a very dark and lonely place. I clearly remember she would take the time to speak to me on the phone for hours listening to me cry and complain. She didn't mind what time of the night it was or how long she would have to travel to come see me and make me feel loved. (Wait, I think I am going to cry now).

There are many things I can write about Karen. I have many beautiful memories that we have shared. But, now more than sisters in the natural we are sisters in Christ. I am thankful for the unique bond we have knowing that our relationship has been made stronger through the love in Jesus Christ.

My prayer to you Lord is that you keep blessing her with every spiritual blessing in the heavens. You chose her in HIM before the foundation of the earth to be holy and blameless in your sight. Thank you Father because you have predestined her to be adopted through Jesus Christ for Himself, according to His favor and will. May she always be confident in that she is more than a conqueror and that she can do all things through Christ who strengthens her!

I pray all this in the name of Jesus...

God bless you!

Behold, Children are a heritage from the LORD!

Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD,
The fruit of the womb is a reward.
Like arrows in the hand of a warrior,
So are the children of one’s youth.
Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them;
They shall not be ashamed,
But shall speak with their enemies in the gate. (Psalm 127:3-5)

My 40 week journey has concluded with the birth of my beautiful baby girl. As I was in the labor and delivery room right after my daughter was born...the last 40 weeks flashed before my eyes. I reflected on all the love and mercy the Lord has demonstrated to me and my family through this journey.

The last 40 weeks were filled with many lessons. I received ministration that He knew was necessary for me to continue strong in my walk in Him. He showed me with renewed eyes the spiritual warrior in my husband and the loving heart of my tween. Both allowed themselves to be vessels which the Lord ministered to me through their example.

I have seen once again His faithful love. Love that heals and sets free. A pure and unconditional love that can never be compared to anything that I can ever ask or imagine. I now continue on another journey. I am confident that my Celestial Father will be holding my hand every step of the way.

Thank you Father for your Son Jesus and for your beautiful and precious Holy Spirit!

Clean-Up

I have created a storage space in my l.r. in which I have managed to pack so many things that I thought it was about time to consolidate some of the household goods.

I was able to pack about 5 bags (clothes, toys, shoes, etc.)to donate to the Salvation Army. My husband tossed about 4 bags of garbage.

I received a good piece of advice in which I tried to follow during my clean-up effort is that "If I were planning to move, would I take this with me?" I noticed I had quite a few things that no longer were in working order and I just kept and stored them. I had items that my family nor I used any longer and can be passed along to someone who may find use for them.

My husband and I will be concentrating on the kitchen next! We have been blessed with abundant cabinet space and therefore I have managed to use it as storage also.
I am excited to get started on that one!

Overall, I feel like we made some progress in our effort to prepare for the arrival of our 2nd daughter in just 3 weeks.

Be Aware

About two months ago, I felt lead to do something for my sister-in Christ. I questioned myself as to whether it was me or the Lord indicating me to do something specific. I asked the Holy Spirit to once again bring confirmation if I should proceed or not. I did not heed to the voice of the Holy Spirit therefore possibly missing the opportunity to be blessed or to serve as a blessing to my sister-in-Christ.

Don’t miss your next opportunity to serve as a blessing to someone else!

Reflection

As I was coming back from buying my lunch this afternoon, the man at the lobby cafe asked me when I was due to have my baby. As I proceeded to tell him that I was far along and I would be having my baby within the next two months or so, he looked at me and said to me, "I noticed that you looked fatigued". As I proceeded to end the conversation respectfully I walked back to the elevator. As I was walking back I meditated on what he said to me. I was shocked when he said this because I am feeling great. I don't feel tired. For God's glory I have been able to work and take care of my other duties just fine.

As I walked along the corridor and into the elevator the Holy Spirit brought to my memory my sister's preaching which was some time ago already. My sister preached on the book of Esther. Esther 5:3" Then said the king unto her, What wilt thou, queen Esther? and what is thy request? it shall be even given thee to the half of the kingdom." Again in verse 6 "And the king said unto Esther at the banquet of wine, What is thy petition? and it shall be granted thee: and what is thy request? even to the half of the kingdom it shall be performed."

The emphasis that my sister made (if I remember correctly) was that the King noticed on Esther's face an expression that she was not her usual self therefore asking her twice what was her petition.

In my expression I want to reflect the peace of Christ in my life. More importantly in my daily personal walk/relationship with the Lord. I want my life to be a testimony of the saving power that only Jesus can perform in the life of a person should they choose to surrender themselves to Jesus! Not only to the outside word but to my family as well. Therefore, "performing the duties of my ministry" as my sister wrote.

What are you reflecting today?

IMAGINE ME

Imagine me, loving what I see
when the Mirror looks at me
'cause I imagine me
In a place of no insecurities
And I'm finally happy
cause I imagine me
Letting go of all of the ones who hurt me
'Cause they never did deserve me
Can you imagine me
Saying no to thoughts that try to control me
Remembering all you told me
Lord can You imagine me
Over what my mamma said
And healed from what my daddy did
And I wanna live and not read that page again
Imagine me, being free
Trusting you totally
Finally I can…imagine me
I admit it was hard to see
You being in love with someone like me
But finally I can…imagine me
Being strong and not letting people break me down
You won't get that joy this time around
Can you imagine me
In a world where nobody has to live afraid
Because of your love fears gone away
Lord, can You imagine me
Letting go of my past
And glad I have another chance
And my heart will dance
'Cause I don't have to read that page again
Gone, gone, it's gone, all gone

His Presence

This morning I was reading my weekly email from babycenter.com. It gives an idea of the growth of the baby and what other happenings will occur this week. A suggestion read that it is recommended that the mother talk, read aloud, and even sing to the baby. This suggestion made me pause. This made me think of my relationship with God. I do not see Him, but I talk to Him. I do not see Him but I know His presence is with me. I praise Him and I know He hears me.

Am I always mindful of the presence of God? Am I always mindful of the presence of God when I am disciplining my daughter? When I am discussing something with my husband that we may not see eye to eye on do I remember God is hearing me? When I am pushed or sometimes even stepped on while I am on the train am I always aware that God knows my thoughts? I always want to recognize the presence of the Lord in my life. Knowing that God is always watching, seeing, hearing me makes me more aware that I want to live a life that is pleasing to Him!

May he strengthen your hearts so that you will be blameless and holy in the presence of our God and Father when our Lord Jesus comes with all His holy ones. 1 Thessalonians 3:13

How Do You See Your Life?

I was recently reminded of this special time in my life.
That lead me to ask myself the question, “How do you see your life?” Sure I am a wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, etc. As I continued down the list, a verse came to mind, it was 1 John 4 :10 (NIV) "This is love: not that we loved God, but that HE loved us and sent HIS Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins."

First and foremost I am the daughter of the One True God.

Blessed and Highly Favored…yep, that's me!
